The Unitarian Universalist Church of Midland, in coordination with the Transgender Education Network of Texas, and the Texas State Bar LGBT Section, are organizing this professional event for the purpose of fostering the growth of a network of providers in West Texas trained in both professional and cultural competencies. |
Interdisciplinary training in medical, legal and mental health foundations and breakout sessions to foster greater understanding in addressing various transgender cultural competencies. Providing a forum for interested participants from diverse professional backgrounds- including educational, journalistic, criminal justice, faith-based, or other community service backgrounds- to gain knowledge and competency with regard to serving, interacting with, and/or reporting on transgender clients. |
